Om Bioimpact
Den svenska bioekonomin bygger på biobaserad råvara från skog, åkrar och vatten. Den är en viktig del av lösningen på de stora samhällsutmaningarna, och visar vägen mot ett biobaserat samhälle med cirkularitet och återvinning över värdekedjegränserna. De gröna näringarna och den biobaserade processindustrin i Sverige vill leda Sveriges gröna omställning, med hållbar utveckling som grund för global konkurrenskraft och samhällsnytta.
Bioimpact är ett av förberedelseprojekten inom Vinnovas, Energimyndighetens och Formas satsning Impact Innovation och genomförs av Skogsindustrierna, Livsmedelsföretagen, Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund (LRF), TEKO – Sveriges Textil och Modeföretag och IKEM – Innovations- och kemiindustrierna i Sverige.
Förberedelseprojektet har i bred samverkan formulerat målsättningar och missions för ett cirkulärt och biobaserat samhälle och engagerat samarbetspartners i ansökan om ett Impact Innovation-program som ger tydliga bidrag till Sveriges klimatmål och FN:s globala mål för hållbar utveckling.
I oktober 2023 lämnades ansökan om ett framtida programkontor in till de finansierande myndigheterna. I februari 2024 väntas besked om vilka program som får starta.

Bioimpact – a part of Sweden's innovation investment for the 2030s
Bioimpact aims to shape a future strategic innovation program in Sweden with the goal to create conditions for innovation and research for a green transition and a circular and biobased society. The project is one of the preparatory projects within the national initiative Impact Innovation.
The Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova are launching the next generation strategic innovation program – Impact Innovation. It is an actor-driven and long-term collection of forces that will contribute to global competitiveness through transformation for sustainable development. During 2023, several preparatory projects that have received funding via the initiative will be carried out with the ambition of drawing up a final application to run a program.
The Swedish Forest Industries Federation, IKEM – Innovation and Chemical Industries in Sweden, TEKO – the Swedish trade and employers’ association for companies working in the textile and fashion industry, The Swedish Food Federation and The Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF) have jointly taken the initiative to the preparatory project Bioimpact.
The Swedish bioeconomy is based on biobased raw materials from forests, fields and water. It is an important part of the solution to the major societal challenges and shows the way towards a circular and biobased society.
With Bioimpact, the five trade associations want to lead Sweden's green transition, with sustainable development as the basis for global competitiveness and societal benefit.
During 2023, a broad mobilization process will therefore be carried out to formulate missions for a circular and biobased society, and engage partners in an application for an Impact Innovation program that provides clear contributions to Sweden's climate goals and the UN's sustainable development goals.
The initiative includes the green primary production in Sweden – with biobased raw materials from forests, fields and water – as well as the subsequent value chains within the forest, chemical, textile and food industries from processes to the end customer and back.
